Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919-2009), was a Swedish interior architect and furniture designer. He was fully trained as a cabinetmaker at the age of 18, later he obtained an architectural degree in Gothenburg. He worked as an industrial designer at General Motors and assistant to designers Carl Malmsten and Werner West. In 1951 he founded his own lighting company Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd. For the company, Jakobsson has created modern lighting fixtures, often with a calming and subdued light. He has been called the father of soft light. Picture: Sveriges Radio www.sr.se
